Dr. Lower is the founder of Countryside Orthopaedics, P.C. and has been providing quality orthopaedic care in the Northern Virginia area for over 17 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After an internship at Tripler Army Medical Hospital in Oahu, Hawaii, Dr. Lower completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He received sub-specialty training at the University of Maryland with a fellowship in Foot and Ankle and Lower Extremity Reconstruction.
Dr. Lower served fifteen years in the U.S. Army and completed a distinguished military career in the Army Medical Corps with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He received numerous medical and military honors including Ranger Tab, Jump Wings – both US & Canadian, and Pathfinder Badge. For outstanding service with the 82nd Airborne Division during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Dr. Lower received the Meritorious Service Commendation, Southwest Asia Service; the Kuwait Liberation Medal; and the Combat Medical Badge.

Imran Khan, M.D.

Dr. Khan joined Countryside Orthopaedics from Southern California in 2007. He gained experience in complex upper extremity trauma and reconstruction as an attending physician at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, the county trauma center for San Bernardino County, California.
In addition, he gained experience treating workers compensation patients for County, State, and Federal as well as numerous private employers.
He also served 2 years as a member of the clinical faculty at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he trained Orthopaedic Surgery Residents and Hand Surgery Fellows.
Dr. Khan received his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and pursued 5 years of Orthopaedic Surgery training at McLaren Regional Medical Center/Michigan State University Affiliated Orthopaedic Surgery Residency in Flint, Michigan. He then proceeded to The Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center, where he received specialized training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and Microsurgery.
He has been with Countryside Orthopaedics since 2007, and has an interest and expertise in complex fracture and soft tissue injuries in the hand, wrist, forearm or elbow requiring secondary reconstruction, scaphoid fractures and nonunions, fractures of the distal radius, wrist fracture dislocations, complex fractures and fracture dislocations in the elbow, and biceps tendon injuries and collateral ligament injuries at the elbow.

Adam J. Lorenzetti, M.D.

Dr. Lorenzetti joined Countryside Orthopaedics in 2015 from Florida, where he completed a fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa on shoulder and elbow reconstruction. Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Lorenzetti was an orthopaedic surgery resident at Loma Linda University Medical Center for four years. He completed his internship in orthopaedic surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, NY, after earning his medical doctor degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2009. He graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University in Medford, MA with a B.S. degree in chemical and biological engineering in 2004.
With numerous publications, presentations and research to his credit, Dr. Lorenzetti specializes in shoulder reconstruction including shoulder arthroscopy (rotator cuff repairs, instability, frozen shoulder etc.) and Anatomic and Reverse Shoulder Replacements, as well as elbow surgery and reconstruction. He is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Lorenzetti enjoys a variety of sports, including white water rafting, riverboarding, skiing and snowboarding, scuba diving, golf, bowling, soccer and trekking. An intermediate Spanish language speaker, Dr. Lorenzetti also loves to travel internationally.
